Children learn about the number 100
By Nancy Replogle
The one hundredth day of school was celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, at St. Mary of the Assumption School. Students in Kindergarten made crowns with 10 strips of construction paper attached to it -10 items stamped on each strip. They also made necklaces. Students in first grade ate 100 items after sorting them into 10 groups of 10 items. They also listed 100 items in the classroom and played games involving the number 100. Students in the second grade came up with 100 combinations of numbers that equal 100 and students in third grade made over 100 words using the super-word, ”supercalifragilisticexpealidocious.” The number 100 also played a prominent part in the 4th and 5th Grade classrooms. It was an exciting and fun-filled day.
