Rodgers Lee Grant

Rodgers Lee Grant, 76, of Paulding, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 18, 1936, in Harlem, N.Y., the son of the late Albert and Mary E. (Rodgers) Grant. On January 28, 2000, he married Louise E. Morhart, who survives in Paulding.

Other survivors include a son, Mandingo Ndingi of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Biah Bia Buchongo of Oakland; a stepson, Don (Marilyn) Stevenson of Cecil; four stepdaughters, Becky (Tom) Jackson of Bluffton, Ind., Jackie Adams of Oakwood, Sally Stevenson of Dunedin, New Zealand, and Richelle Britt of Paulding; a sister, Judy Lee of New Rochelle, N.Y.; three grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

A sister, Alberta, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Bob Shepard officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery in Paulding, with military graveside rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587 in Paulding.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
