Gardener speaks to DAR

Diane Morris (left), local Square Foot Gardening guru, presented her system of gardening for the Isaac Van Wart Chapter of DAR. The unique idea of Square Foot is being able to use this system for as much or as little as someone needs or desires.  The garden is laid out in 4-by-4-foot areas and people can grow all they need in 20 percent of the space of a conventional row garden. The motto of Square Foot Gardening is “No Weeding, No Digging, No Tilling, No Kidding!”  Morris’ garden is a wonderful mixture of peas, potatoes, and tomato plants, along with lovely flowers.
