Eaton Corporation news
Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton announced on Tuesday several “Powering Communities Grants” totaling $69,000 to support local community organizations in the Van Wert area. The donations will be used to enhance various programs and organizations that positively affect the lives of citizens throughout the region.

Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live, work, and volunteer.
“Giving something back to the communities where we work is a core value of the Eaton culture,” said Chris Bauer, senior HR generalist for the local Eaton facility. “These great organizations foster education and improve the quality of life for many citizens in the area – we’re proud to play a part in their important work.”
Funding recipients include:
- Van Wert County Council on Aging – $40,000 to update three HVAC systems and computers at the senior center located at 220 Fox Road in Van Wert. The organization provides support services including food, transportation and home care for senior citizens in Van Wert County.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer, Auglaize & Van Wert Counties – $16,000 to support the After School Buddies program that matches elementary age school children with high school juniors and seniors. In addition, funds will help purchase computers needed to run the agency’s new information management software.
- The Brumback Library – $5,000 to help underwrite the Summer Reading Program that consists of events and activities that promote a love of reading for area children.
- Junior Achievement – $8,000 for operating support to ensure that JA can continue to offer financial and economic educational programs in the local community.
