The Lancers took a 14-10 lead in the first quarter, but then had to watch Antwerp whittle that advantage down over the next two periods until Lincolnview led by only one point, 22-21, heading into the final stanza. The Lady Archers then outscored the home team 18-12 in the final stanza to steal the victory.

Audrey Bowen led the Lancers with 10 points – the only Lincolnview player in double figures – while Katie Dye added 8 points for the locals. Antwerp was led by AJ Stuck, who scored 14 points on the night, while Archer Jessie Arnold also was in double figures with 12 points.

The Lancers outshot Antwerp from the field, hitting 16 of 33 field goals (48.5 percent) and was 2 of 3 from three-point range (66.7 percent). The Archers made 11 of 35 field goal attempts (31.4 percent) and no three-pointers on the night.

But the crucial game statistic was free throw shooting. While the Lancers didn’t make either of their two free throw attempts, Antwerp had 21 attempts at the charity stripe and knocked down 17 of those (81 percent).

The Archers also outrebounded Lincolnview, 16-14, and had four fewer turnovers (15-11), while the Lancers had two steals to none for Antwerp.

The Lady Lancers are now 3-9 overall on the season and will next play Van Wert Thursday in the Cougar’s Den. Game start time for the junior varsity contest is 5 p.m.
