Robert J. Patton

Robert J. Patton, 81, of Wren, died at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Van Wert Manor.

He was born June 28, 1928, in Summerset, Ky., the son of the late Andrew and Sarah Patton. On November 17, 1964, he married Carolyn Eleanor (Adams) Patton, who preceded him in death on December 8, 1990.

Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Patton and Betty Ruth Collins, both of Cleveland, and Penny (Paul) Richardson of Wren; two stepsons, David Rable of Cecil and Richard Rable of Willshire; three stepdaughters, Carolyn Sue (Charlie) Youngblood of Milton, Ky., Rosemary (Ed) Girod of Monroe, Ind., and April (Albert) Hendershot of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A stepdaughter, Joann Rable; one stepson, William Rable; and 12 brothers and sisters, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor John Richardson officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
