Samuel D. Evans

Samuel D. Evans, 38, of Van Wert, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born August 2, 1972, in Van Wert, the son of Cherrie D. (Coon) Evans, who survives in Van Wert, and the late Gordon D. Evans, who preceded him in death February 27, 2009.

Survivors include a brother, Michael (Jennifer) Evans of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Carrie Evans of Van Wert; and a niece and nephew.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 13, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Constance Cherry officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: American Red Cross or the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
