Esther Florence Sanderson

Esther Florence Sanderson, 86, of Paulding, died Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Community Health Professionals’ Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born December 8, 1924, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Fred and Bessie (Leslie) Hartwig. On February 23, 1945, she married Doyle J. Sanderson, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Cheryl) Sanderson of Paulding and Delmar (Elia) Sanderson of Willoughby; two brothers, Fred (Louise) Hartwig of Van Wert and Ray (Wilma) Hartwig of Haviland; three sisters, Mary Gray of Paulding, Deanna (Robert) Adkins of Oak Hill and Frieda (Ralph) Hammond of Cloverdale; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Paul and Richard Hartwig; and two sisters, Carrie Cotterman and Jenny Mae Green, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Karen Stetins officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, January 27, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
