Sarah S. Wilkin
Sarah S. Wilkin, 97, of Vancrest Assisted Living Center in Delphos and formerly of Venedocia, died at 3:15 a.m.
She was born September 26, 1913, in Union Township, Mercer County, the daughter of the late William F. and Osie (Hughes) Swygart. On July 12, 1947, she married Charles S. Wilkin, who preceded her in death on November 3, 1970.

Mrs. Wilkin was retired from the Dietary Department of Van Wert Manor nursing home. She was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church in rural Van Wert County, where she was active as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She was a 1931 graduate of Mendon-Union High School.
Survivors include a son, Charles W. (Susan) Wilkin of Delphos; one daughter, Mary Alice Wilkin of Lima; two grandchildren, Kendra (Brad) Klausing of Springboro and Christopher S. Wilkin of Columbus; a great-granddaughter, Hallee Lynn Klausing; several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law.
Two brothers, Edwin A. Swygart and Emery Swygart; a sister, Edith Nolan; and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Lynn Klausing, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Chuck Glover officiating. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery in Union Township, Mercer County.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, January 27, at the funeral home.
