Charles E. Leaser

Charles E. Leaser, 69, of Van Wert, died at 5:44 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Lutheran Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born November 1, 1944, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Clinton Charles and Velma R. (Etgen) Leaser. He married Yvonne (Todhunter) Leaser of North London, England, and she survives.

Other survivors include four children, Collin (Leslie) Leaser and David (Sarah) Leaser, both of Van Wert, Julie Dominique of Middle Point and Suzanne (Rick) Akom of Scott; four sisters, Lucille Bowen, Margaret (Michael) Hipsley and Helen Rode, all of Van Wert, and Elizabeth (Dale) Hire of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Two great-grandchildren also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, at the funeral home.
