Van Wert independent sports

MIDDLETOWN – The Van Wert High School wrestling team competed in a dual-team tournament at Middletown High School this past Saturday. The Cougar grapplers were able to win four of the five duals.  There were no individual placings at this tournament, since it was a team-formatted event, but the team earned a second place trophy and individual medals for being on the runner-up team.

In the first dual contest, Van Wert won against Hughes 42-36. Next up was Little Miami and Van Wert won 41-31. The Cougars were matched against Trotwood Madison next and came out with a 46-21 team victory. Van Wert then faced Monroe and won 48-36.
