C’view board adds 2 days to calendar

CONVOY — The Crestview Local Board of Education approved adding two Saturdays to the school calendar to make up for days lost because of inclement weather during a special meeting held Monday evening in the district boardroom.
The district has already lost seven days to snow, fog and a late start related to the district facilities project. That means that, if no new calamity days are added by the state, Crestview will have four days to make up this school year.
That could change, though, if the Ohio General Assembly passes pending legislation that would increase calamity days back to five, over the three days currently alloted to school districts.
The two days added include Saturday, March 5, and Saturday, March 19.
The board also accepted the resignation of varsity football coach Trent Temple after a year in that position and went into executive session to discuss personnel items, with no action taken afterwards, according to Superintendent Mike Estes.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Crestview Local Board of Education will be Monday, February 21, at 6 p.m., in the district boardroom.
