Swan Lake magnificent
Like the swallows to Capistrano, the swans finally made it to Van Wert. The Ballet Theatre of Russia performed Tchaikovsky’s popular ballet, Swan Lake, Monday night for a large and enthusiastic crowd that didn’t seem to mind a delay of nearly a week to see the rescheduled event. For most, it was well worth the wait, as the Russian ballet company brought its inimitable style, the graceful pirouettes and powerful leaps of its corps of dancers, a bevy of gorgeous costumes and scenery and the great music of Tchaikovsky to the stage of the Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Ohio.
