Michael Joseph Meyer

Michael Joseph Meyer, 59, of Convoy, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born February 6, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of the late Robert and Patricia (Leonard) Meyer. On January 15, 1977, he married Nancy Diane (Graham) Meyer, who survives.

Mr. Meyer was an insurance agent for 35 years with first the Meyer Insurance Agency, then Stahl, Stoller & Meyer Insurance Center in Van Wert and Paulding. He was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.

He graduated from Crestview High School in 1970 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 1973.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Nicholas J. Meyer and Peter A. Meyer, both of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Leslie Ann (Brandon) Debes of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Sally Lincoln of Dayton, Ann Stevens of Charleston, S.C., and Laura Hook of Houston, Texas; and an aunt, Janet Leonard of Fort Wayne.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 18, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Mike Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, February 17, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
