Camera Club News 2/16/11

As expected, there were a lot of entries in the Curves competition when the Camera Club met Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Art Center.  Of the 23 prints to consider, Dick Rohr’s light study was the winner.  In the tie breaker for second, Bill Sorensen ‘s print emerged the winner.

There was a 3-way tie for first in the 14 slides that were submitted.  In the revote, Greg Gamble’s picture was selected the winner.  Then there was a 2-way tie for second to resolve.  Tracy Sterling’s photo was selected for 2nd.

In other business, a new directory and calendar for the year were distributed, Treas. Gribler reported that the Discount Food Cards are almost ready, March 12 will be the next club cleanup at the Art Center, members are to unplug all lights in the studio when they’re done, and a committee was formed to define the appropriate image for display in our exhibits.

In addition to reading about the Camera Club and seeing winning photos in

the Times Bulletin, it was announced that they could also be found on the vwindependent by clicking on the Community & Columns Tab.  This opens the Columns Links and then click on the Camera Club.  This will be especially helpful to our out-of-town members to keep track of future events

The next Camera Club meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Wassenberg Art Center on S. Washington St.
