Patricia J. Lahmon
Patricia J. Lahmon, 80, of Van Wert, died Friday, February 18, 2011, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born January 29, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late James J. and Bessie (Wiechart) Irwin. On July 3, 1954, she married James H. “Sam” Lahmon, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1989.

Mrs. Lahmon was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, as well as its Altar Rosary Society, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Bible Study Group, Paula Study Club, was an American Red Cross volunteer, and belonged to Van Wert County Churches United and served on the Van Wert County Election Board. She also was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178, the Van Wert Woman’s Club and A1A Condo Park Association in Florida.
Survivors include six children, Mary Anne (Michael) Cramer of Tucson, Ariz., James H. (Carol) Lahmon II, Thomas Lahmon and John (Andrea) Lahmon, all of Van Wert, Patrick Lahmon of Wichita, Kan., and Tim (Sally) Lahmon of Dayton; 12 grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Summersett of Moncks Corner, S.C., Catherina (Brad) Henson of Summerville, S.C., Jenni Lahmon of Lima, Sarah (Rob) Lynch of Philadelphia, Pa., Katie Lahmon, Jesika (Eddie) Woodard, Renee Lahmon, Cory Ebel, Alix Ebel and Morgan Lahmon, all of Van Wert, and Mackenzie Lahmon and Sam Lahmon, both of Dayton; and a great-granddaughter, Ameila Henson of Summerville, S.C.
A son, Joseph Lahmon, who died in infancy; a granddaughter, Christina Lahmon, who also died in infancy; and a brother, James J. Irwin Jr., also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Keith Stripe, Patricia’s godson, and Father Mike Zacharias, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, February 21, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish rosary service will be at 8 that evening.
Preferred memorials: St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert or a charity of donor’s choice.
