Leonard B. Stemen

Leonard B. Stemen, 85, of Middle Point, died at 6:23 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

He was born April 23, 1925, in Washington Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Delmar and Ethel (Jenkins) Stemen. On June 14, 1946, he married Mildred J. (Sites) Stemen, who preceded him in death on May 7, 2001.

Survivors include a son, Larry B. Stemen of Van Wert; three sisters, Marilyn (Dorce) Burkley of Canfield, Norma Wollet of Middle Point and Joan Alt of Van Wert; and three grandchildren.

A brother, John Stemen, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, with graveside military rites performed by the Ohio City American Legion post.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 24, at the funeral home.
