Juanita E. Black

Juanita E. Black, 88, of Convoy, died at 1:28 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born April 16, 1922, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Glen and Annetta E. (Upp) Baer.

Survivors include a special friend, Rosemary Krick; four children, Gary (Sharyn) Black and David (Candice) Black, both of Convoy, Larry (Nancy) Black of Middle Point and Tonya Black of Gallatin, Tenn.; three brothers, Donald “Murf” (Judy) Baer and Charles (Linda) Baer, both of Convoy, and Robert “Jake” Baer of Van Wert; four sisters, Betty (Mike) Wyandt and Bonnie Speelman, both of Van Wert, NaDonna (Ralph) Schumm of Bluffton, Ind., and Jeannette Smith of Bronson, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Carl and Walter “Bud” Baer; two sisters, Glendora Baer and Anna Kathryn Rase; and a half-sister, Vera Nortley, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 28, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, with the Rev. Will Haggis officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 27, at the funeral home.
