Winter snowfall 3rd highest since 1983

This snowplow is moving some of the 6.2 inches of snow that fell overnight Thursday and Friday morning on East Main Street in Van Wert. The more than 6 inch total brings the total snowfall this winter to 43.65 inches, the highest total since the period November 2002-March 2004, when 55.05 inches of snow fell. Before that, one has to go back to the winter of 1983-84 to find more snowfall (57 inches). Another inch or two is also possible today, said County Emergency Management Director Rick McCoy, who added that flooding will be the next major concern in the county when what is predicted to be heavy rain hits Sunday evening through Monday.
