Do you like putting puzzles together? In social studies, the fourth grade
students put puzzles cut from maps together. Pictured assembling a map of the United States and Canada are Risa Pollock, Erienne Cassidy, Ezra Friesner, Mason McHugh and Jacob Lautzenheiser.

As part of our Catholic Schools Week, students collected money for the parish St. Vincent de Paul Society. This organization assists many
local people who have need and are crisis situations. Pictured is Colin
McHugh (right) giving Dick Schultz, chair of the parish St. Vincent DePaul
Society, a check for $200.

Atria, ventricles, valves, arteries, veins and muscle tissues of the heart
were experienced by sixth grade students at St. Mary of the Assumption School have. During February the focus of health class was having a healthy heart.
Students studied heart risk factors such as smoking, junk foods, and genetics.
They also studied how exercise and healthy eating can reduce the risk of a
heart attack. Kathy Schaadt, RN and volunteer, helped the class dissect
a cow heart. Students learned the path of blood through the heart by walking
through a large model on the classroom floor.

Effort was a recent LIFE Skill word. Effort is defined as giving your best
in any situation important any time but especially when school is canceled and it is hard to keep up with everything. Pictured is Alexis Miller, James
Reinhart, Ms. Schaadt, Erika Younts, Kordane Thomas, Caleb Fetzer, and Zack Miller, all recognized for their effort.
