Convoy schedules 2nd planning meeting
CONVOY – The second public planning meeting scheduled by Convoy village officials will be held for all village residents this coming Tuesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at the Edgewood Park Building, 643 N. Main St.
This meeting will be with grant writer Ron Putoff, and will be for the purpose of receiving public input for a list of possible projects that would be included in a villagewide survey required to apply for grant money through the state-funded Community Development Block Grant Revitalization Program.
The Ohio Department of Transportation has already scheduled a resurfacing project on Ohio 49 through Convoy in 2012.
This meeting is to involve Convoy residents in planning for future needs of the village. This is the first of five meetings that will be held as a requirement for the grant, so village officials encourage residents to attend.
Having a large number of residents sign in during the meetings will help with the grant scoring, showing the grant review board that village residents are willing to participate in the planning for the future.
“Your presence will help the village in the application process, with the possibility of being able to do more projects within the village,” said Convoy Mayor Brad Guest.
