VW Boychoir to have fundraiser today

The Van Wert Area Boychoir, which was begun to honor the memory of Inas Mace, invites the community to eat at Bob Evans Restaurant in Van Wert from 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. today to help raise money for the group’s free summer camp in August.

Flyers, which customers must present when paying their bills, can be found at various businesses around Van Wert, including Derry Drugs on Westwood Drive. The boychoir and camp are open to all boys in grades 2-6.  The boys work toward a Christmas and a spring concert, as well as entertaining for various functions.

The organization’s mission of providing an enjoyable educational and cultural experience for boys of all backgrounds, using vocal music instruction and education, performance and interaction with other youths is showing dividends, as members of the first choirs are doing well in junior and senior high music activities and contests.

Director of the boychoir is Brian Anders, with Larry Taylor providing vocal training and Melissa Clay accompanist.
