YMCA announces new, improved website

The YMCA of Van Wert County has developed a new and improved website at www.vwymca.org.  Check this out to see local people, updated Y information, and an entire new layout. The new site has links/pages for each of the Y’s departments, including a Home Page with a blog link and sections that include: About Us, Membership, Aquatics, Fitness, Sports/Programs, and Camp Clay.

“We are so excited to kick-off this new site,” stated J.J. McClain, membership-marketing director. “It will allow us to have even better communication with our members and the community through the general site, new text message notifications, the established blog and our new connection with Facebook.”

“It also allowed us to use the new logos and colors of the Y,” McClain added. “This, along with photos of our actual members and staff used throughout, better demonstrates our more fun-family oriented environment.”

Also available now at the above website is online registration for Y classes and online donations. In order to set up accounts for either of these, Y members must register an email address with kallie@vwymca.org.  Once registered, Y members will be emailed a login name and password.

Online text notifications will be used to keep Van Wert residents and Y members who have registered their cell phone numbers informed of any Y updates, changes in classes, games or practices, etc.

“The end product of a friendly, informative and interactive website was achieved,” said YMCA Executive Director Hugh Kocab, noting that the Y staff worked closely with Be Scene Multimedia to develop the site and produce a look and layout that best represents the Y.

“J.J. McClain and the staff of Be Scene Multimedia collaborated to create a first class website,” added Kocab.

In addition to the aforementioned new options, the Y also plans to keep updated pictures of events, adult and youth sports and aquatics classes, summer camps and more.  Make sure to continue to check out the site.
