Connie J. York

Connie J. York, 67, of Van Wert, died at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She was born December 9, 1943, in Monroeville, Ind., the daughter of the late Nino and Frieda (Gaskill) Alcanter. She married Max York, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four children, Kelly (Tony Craig) Brown of Middle Point, Lisha (Roger) Miller of Van Wert, Arnie (Cheryl) Brown of Lima and Troy Brown of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three stepchildren; three sisters, Janice (Bill) Doan of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dee R. Rodriguez of New Haven, Ind., and Marla (Bruce) Mansfield of Payne; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A sister, Ramona V. Heath, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy at a later date.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
