A Time to Give
By Mari Young
The end of the third nine weeks is coming to a wrap with a few big events on the calendar. Crestview FCCLA has been busy with a fundraiser of its own. Loaves of Love is a national charity event that packs bags of food for children to take home on the weekends to ensure they have something to eat. To raise money for this charity, Crestview FCCLA members set up a donation table where students could pay a dollar to wear pajamas or a hat to the make-up Saturday school day. Madison Etzler, FCCLA member and head of Crestview’s Loaves of Love, said, “I think this event was a success because a lot of

students donated just to donate and help the elementary kids.” Loaves of Love raised $270.50 over the past week. Crestview’s Loaves of Love chapter currently reaches out to 17 children in the elementary side of the school.
Crestview seniors just returned from their annual Chicago senior trip. The students were in Chicago Thursday through Friday and experienced many of Chicago’s finest attractions. Among some of those attractions was lunch at Ed Debevic’s, a night at The Comedy Sportz Club, shopping along the Magnificent Mile, and visiting the Field Museum and Wrigley Field. Senior Clay Nofer said, “The Chicago trip was really fun. My favorite part was The Comedy Sportz Club, the comedians were pretty funny.” The senior trip is coordinated and brought together by the senior American Government course, taught by Dan Kline.
