Dutch John bridge closed for replacement

The bridge on Dutch John Road, just south of the intersection with Dixon Cavett Road, will be closed on today for replacement. The closure should remain in effect for around four weeks, depending on weather conditions, according to Van Wert County Engineer Kyle J. Wendel.

The existing steel beam superstructure will be removed and replaced with reinforced concrete beams manufactured by county personnel. The existing concrete abutments will be re-used.
