YWCA Zumba instructor earns certificate
Holly Vaughn, a YWCA fitness instructor, recently received her Zumba Fitness Basic Level 2 certification.
This is the third certification for Zumba Fitness Vaughn has received. In the past year, she has not only received her Basic Level 2 certification, but also was certified in Zumba and Zumba Gold, which focuses on offering Zumba to seniors. She has also put in strong efforts to expand her Zumba repertoire by attending Zumba JAM sessions (choreography training). Eventually, she hopes to add an AQUA Zumba certification to her certification list.

The Basic 2 workshop focused on basic movements of four new rhythms, including flamenco, samba, the tango, and belly dance. Besides the four new rhythms, the workshop provides assistance from the Zumba specialists on technique, interacting with other Zumba instructors, networking, and sharing choreography options.
“It is important to me to keep up to date on the latest from Zumba Fitness; I love developing my Zumba knowledge and sharing my every experience with my classes,” Vaughn said. “I want my class to be fresh, new and exciting!
“Through the Zumba Instructor Network I have been able to attain new music and choreography frequently, meet with my peers face to face, hear how other instructors conduct class,” she added. “All of this has been very helpful and rewarding.”
Vaughn went on to say that she considers herself very lucky to have the opportunity to teach Zumba to those in the area.
“I have a passion and energy for seeing people happy, and Zumba is the perfect outlet to make that happen,” she noted.
Vaughn teaches Zumba class at the YWCA on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7-8 p.m., and Saturday from 9-10 a.m.
