Fair Board again offering baskets for sale

Basket collectors: The Van Wert County Fair is happy to announce the opening of sales for its Limited Edition, 155th anniversary basket.

Fair officials are offering the “napkin” basket, which features a commemorative brass tag, blue ribbon tack covers, blue anniversary weave and a plastic protector. This year’s edition will also have a laser cut lid featuring the Grandstand and a wrought iron handle.  The basket measures 8¼ by 8¼ by 4½ inches and is priced at $45. Each basket is hand woven using hard maple and is 100 percent custom made by American Traditions Basket Company located in historic Canal Fulton.

The company specializes in customizing keepsake baskets for organizations, schools and fundraisers and has been producing handmade, heirloom quality baskets for customers in all 50 states for over 15 years.  All baskets can be registered to receive a lifetime warranty that covers workmanship and materials.

Fair Manager Paul Oechsle announced today that 2011 order forms will be mailed out to everyone who has ordered a basket in the past.
