CVB to host annual city 5K run in June

The Van Wert Area Convention and Visitors will be hosting the fourth annual Van Wert City 5K Run on Saturday, June 4.

The run begins at 8 a.m. at Smiley Park.  Advanced registration fee is $18, which will include a t-shirt, or $10 without a shirt.  Race day registrations will be accepted with a fee of $15 and no guarantee of a shirt, although some of various sizes will be available for sale.

Registration forms can be picked up at various fitness centers and Y’s in the area, the Van Wert Area Convention and Visitors Bureau office at 136 E. Main Street or downloaded from the organization’s website at www.visitvanwert.org/documents/20115KEntryForm.pdf.   Forms are also available on the Van Wert City Parks Department website at www.vanwert.org/parkevents/5k%20Run%20Form.pdf.

There will also be a 2K Family Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. This will take place immediately following the 5K run. There is a $1 per person entry fee for the 2K Fun Run/Walk.
