Dorothy H. Smith

Dorothy H. Smith, 89, of Convoy, died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center of Convoy.

She was born July 9, 1921, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Burl Lee Amos and Francis Muriel (Crates) Stuckey. On December 31, 1947, she married Willard Harrison Smith, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include four children, Darlene (Ray) Young of Convoy and Deloris (Jack) Wilson, David (Sara) Smith and Denny (Laura) Smith, all of Van Wert; a brother, Royal Robert (Dorothy) Stuckey; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A brother (in infancy), and one sister, Thelma Stahl Ford, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Bill Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the funeral home.
