Maxine V. Gordon

Maxine V. Gordon, 90, of Payne, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at her residence.

She was born July 12, 1920, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of the late Frank and Eleanora (Schone) Alter. On June 14, 1952, she married Paul Gordon, who survives in Payne.

Other survivors include five children, Linda (Dennis) Sullivan of Indianapolis, Ind., Eileen (Marc) Durette of Minocqua, Wis., David (Debra) Gordon, Ken Gordon and Bill (Lori) Gordon, all of Payne; four brothers, Frank Alter of Tampa, Fla., Joseph and Raymond Alter, both of Fort Wayne, and Jerome Alter of Sydney, Australia; a sister, Eileen Darling of Decatur, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A son, Richard Gordon; and two siblings, Albert Alter and Mary Jane Caines, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Payne. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, and from 9-9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Dooley Funeral Home in Payne.
