Melba Rose Medford

Melba Rose Medford, 86, of Ohio City, died at 4 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.

She was born October 30, 1924, in Liberty Township, Van Wert, County, the daughter of the late Thomas Carl and Norma Doris (High) Brown. In August 1944, she married Carl Medford, who preceded her in death on June 29, 2006.

Survivors include two sons, Gary L. (Beth Ann) Medford of Howell, Mich., and Rex A. Medford of Ohio City; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

A sister, Jane Ann Brown, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Derick Stemen and the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
