Cougar track teams win county meet

CONVOY — The Van Wert Cougar boys’ and girls’ track and field teams each won their portion of the Van Wert County Track Meet held Tuesday at Crestview’s Athletic Complex.

The Cougar girls compiled a score of 89, while Lincolnview was second with 46 points and Crestview was third with 36 points.

For the boys, Van Wert was first with 92 points, while the Knights finished second with 67 points and the Lancers were third with 16 points.

One of the highlights of the meet was a new county record set in the girls; 4×400-meter relay by Crestview’s relay team in a time of 4:16.70. Members include Ami Callow, Courtney Perrott, Erika Frey and Layne Callow (click here for meet results).
