Camp Palmer needs votes for water slide

Van Wert County residents’ votes can help 4-H Camp Palmer achieve the dream of a water slide for the camp’s swimming pool. Camp Palmer is competing for a $50,000 Pepsi Refresh Project Grant, and area residents can vote every day, May 1-31.

Go to www.refresheverything.com to vote for the water slide and encourage friends and neighbors to vote.

Area residents’ votes are greatly needed to receive the grant, which would provide something the Camp Palmer pool has never had. The camp pool is now 53 years old and in a capital campaign for replacement. The pool has never had a water slide. Last year, more than 1,500 users filled out a survey and their No. 1 desired new addition for the new pool was for a water slide.

4-H Camp Palmer is a premier regional 4-H camp owned by 4-H members in 11 counties in northwest Ohio, including Allen, Auglaize, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, Williams, and Wood.
