Local musician earns award

Jon D. Lisa, a sophomore at Van Wert High School, was recently awarded the Walter M. Lawson Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award. Lisa was presented the award for his accomplishments and leadership as principal/first chair percussionist in the Lima Area Youth Orchestra. Lisa has been a member of the Lima Area Youth Orchestra for three years. The Walter Lawson Jr. Percussion scholarship award was established in honor of the late Walter Lawson Jr. a Lima attorney and Charter member of the Lima Noon Optimist club and founder of the Lima Area Youth Orchestra.
