VW track teams 3rd at Oak Harbor meet

OAK HARBOR — The Cougars competed in the Oak Harbor Invitational meet on Saturday, with Van Wert finishing third in both the boys’ and girls portions’ of the 11-team invitational.

The boys scored 90½ points to finish behind champion Eastwood and runner-up host Oak Harbor. The girls scored 97 points to finish behind champion Perrysburg and runner-up Napoleon. Van Wert’s Sydney Riethman was voted the outstanding female athlete of the meet by the coaches (complete results can be found on Baum’s Page).

Next meet for Van Wert is on May 11 and 13, as Van Wert plays host to the 2011 Western Buckeye League Championships.
