Goedde kids help Japan

Whoever made the assumption that kids can’t make a difference has never been to the Goedde 5th Grade in Van Wert.  Hannah Bartley and Kerstin Breece from the 5th Grade were so disturbed by the images of those in need after the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami that they decided to do something about it.  The two girls worked with their parents to develop the Goedde 5th Grade Change War for Japan.  Their goal was to raise $250 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief program to aid those affected by the disaster in Japan.  Classes were encouraged to bring in spare coins and dollars.  The class that brought in the most was Mrs. Manken’s 5th Grade.  They were rewarded with a pizza lunch sponsored by Hannah Bartley’s parents and Bartley Realty.  In all the Goedde 5th Graders and Staff raised $257 for Japan.
