Fairgrounds to host Off Road Challenge

The Van Wert Agricultural Society and Van Wert Community Club announce the return of The Off Road Challenge to the Van Wert County Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday, June 3-5.

That Friday evening, the entertainment begins with the Tuff Truck competition at 8 p.m., while there will be a Blow Up contest at 9 that night and Double Kik will perform in the beer/entertainment tent at the same time.

On Saturday morning, things get rolling with an “all you can eat” pancake and sausage breakfast from 7-11 a.m. From noon-4 p.m., there will be a sanctioned MRA Mudd Drag points meet. Entertainment begins in the beer/entertainment tent at 1 p.m. with the band Section Ate. Also at 1, there will be a Burn Out contest and a chance to meet the Mudd Drag drivers.

There will be a break after the drags for everyone to enjoy the Peony Festival Grand Parade and Mudd Drags will resume at 7 Saturday evening and another Blow Up contest will also begin. Entertainment will also start at the same time in the beer/entertainment tent with Cincinnati-based band Ground Floor.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, the Michindoh Pulling Association will hold one of the year’s first points events featuring a large number of pullers. After that, there will be a countywide pull for local pullers not affiliated with Michindoh.
