StateWide names scholarship winners

Scholarship winner Emily Fast with Steve Munroe of StateWide Ford Lincoln.

Emily Fast and Abby Evans have been awarded $1,000 scholarships by StateWide Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Company. Fast, a 2011 graduate of Van Wert High School, is the daughter of Mark and Lori Fast of Van Wert and plans to study agricultural business management at The Ohio State University. Evans, a 2011 graduate of Parkway High School, is the daughter of Richard and Karen Evans of Ohio City and plans to study agronomy and crop science at The Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute.

The Built Ford Tough-FFA Scholarship Program is designed to recognize FFA members’ talents and accomplishments, while encouraging their future academic achievements.

StateWide Ford Lincoln has co-sponsored two scholarships per year for five years running.  Recipients have been graduating seniors from Lincolnview, Crestview, Delphos Jefferson, Delphos St Johns, Parkway and Van Wert High Schools. Ford Motor Company has sponsored the Built Ford Tough scholarship program, with participating Ford dealers, since 1997.

To date, the program has awarded $6,586,000 in scholarships to 6,586 FFA members throughout the country.  StateWide and Ford know the value of hard work and believe that hard work should be rewarded.  Educating aspiring young people to become the leaders of tomorrow is just another way of ensuring a successful future.
