Wilhelm new county engineering supt.
The Van Wert County Engineering Department has a new superintendent. Robert Wilhelm, an employee of the County since 1986, has been promoted from his current position of road foreman.
Wilhelm began his career as a seasonal laborer and continued up through the ranks. He has performed and supervised numerous types of work throughout his tenure, including mowing, road repairs, tile/catch basin repair and replacement, ditch layovers, snow and ice control, railroad crossing upgrades, and road reconstruction.
He has also become very proficient as a road grader operator during his years with the county.
Wilhelm will replace longtime Superintendent George Kleman, who will retire on June 30.
Wilhelm is a 1986 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty and is a resident of Liberty Township, where he resides with his wife, Alisa, and son Nathan.
