Convoy ‘Clean-Up Days’ this week
CONVOY — Convoy Village Council has announced that “Clean-Up Days” in Convoy will be Wednesday, June 8, from 8 a.m. to dark, and Thursday, June 9, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with dumpsters under the water tower for debris.
A dumpster will be provided for metal items, large and small appliances, and air conditioners. Items that are not acceptable in the these dumpsters include batteries, tires, recyclable items, garbage, yard waste, liquids and vehicles. This service is for village residents only.
Computer monitors and small TVs will be collected for a fee of $5, while collecting larger TVs will cost $10. Tires will also be accepted. Passenger car tires will cost $3 each, which should be paid to the attendant.
Clean-Up Day is a service being provided to the community; village residents are asked to respect the rules and the service may be provided again. If there are any questions, contact the village office at 419.749.2266.
Village officials will be enforcing Ordinance 582, Convoy Zoning Code, Section VII, Item LL, 1-9, Junk and Other Nuisances, and the Ohio Revised Code.
Zoning Code Item LL, 1-6 requires that unlicensed, inoperative, disabled vehicles are prohibited from being stored or parked on any residential or village property in Convoy. The Ordinance Item LL, 1-9 prohibits storage of vegetation, garbage, refuse and other debris on any residential property within the village.
Village law allows property owners to be notified and, if the matter is not resolved, the legislative authority will provided for removal and the costs will be applied as a tax lien to the property owner’s real estate taxes.
