Edward S. Leland

Edward S. Leland, 71, of Van Wert, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born June 11, 1939, in Saginaw, Mich., the son of the late Ward and Betty (Brown) Leland. On June 9, 1990, he married Patricia Ann (Opliger) Leland, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four children, Scott (Kristine) Leland and Shawne Leland, both of Lima, Shannon (Howard) Baker of Melbourne, Fla., and Stacey Ann (Andu) Ball of Lawrence, Kan.; a sister, Janet Leland of Ann Arbor, Mich.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. William Haggis officiating.

There will be no calling hours.
