VWCH All-Star Football Game this Friday

The 12 annual Van Wert County Hospital All-Star Football Game, hosted by the Van Wert Booster Club, will be played this Friday at Eggerss Stadium in Van Wert. The gates will open at 6:30 p.m., with player introductions at 7:15 and kick-off slated for 7:30 that evening.

Thirty-three players from the Western Buckeye League will face off against a combined squad of 33 players from the Midwest Athletic and Northwest conferences.

Area players competing for the WBL team include Van Wert’s Corey Clifton, Donny Sites, Cory Hirschy and Zach Keirns (click here for the full WBL roster).

Area players competing for the MAC/NWC team include Chris Pohlman, Jordan Leininger, Tyler Ditto, Dylan Dancer, Derek Klaus, Austin Vogt, Alex Recker, Joey Grubenhoff and AJ Klausing, all of Delphos St. John’s; Logan Bonifas and Kody Richardson of Delphos Jefferson; Levi Krouskopf of Spencerville; Hank Bevington of Parkway; and Dylan Welch of Paulding (click here for a full MAC/NWC roster).

Bob Priest and his staff will coach the WBL team, while Nate Moore and his staff will coach the MAC/NWC team.

The MAC/NWC team, which won the first five games, currently lead the series 7-4, although the WBL team has won three of the last four games (click here for game scores and individual records).

The event is a fundraiser for the Van Wert Booster Club.
