Nellie Mae Hartman

Nellie Mae Hartman, 64, of Van Wert, died at 11:02 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Dekalb County Hospital in Auburn, Ind.

She was born June 20, 1946, the daughter of the late Elmer Marshall and Thelma (Rodman) Baker. She married Jerry L. Hartman, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three daughters, Beverly J. (Kevin) Caldwell, Kelly R. (Stephen) Mengerink and April R. (Scott) Dicke; two brothers, Elmer (Cheryl) Baker Jr. of Payne and Glenn (Joyce) Baker of Haviland; five sisters, Erma Pratt, Rose Maples, Carolyn (Jerry) Goins and Toni (George) Searfoss, all of Haviland, and Joann (Roger) Barker of Defiance; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A brother, John Baker, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jim Burns officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at the funeral home.
