Melvin C. Wrasman
Melvin C. Wrasman, 81, of Delphos, died at 4:24 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born November 21, 1929, in Delphos, the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Klima) Wrasman.
On September 29, 1956, he married Ruth (Wieging) Wrasman, who preceded him in death on March 1, 1995. He then married Barbara (Moreo) Wrasman on December 6, 2003, and she survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael (Marlene) Wrasman of Delphos and Dan (Margaret) Wrasman of Crown Point, Ind.; two daughters, Barbara (Jeff) Stant of Van Wert and Elaine (Heath) Kreiling of Pandora; a brother, Gene Wrasman of Tennessee; six sisters, Irma (Tom) Buettner, Marg (Charlie) Ashby and Jane (Ron) Goergens, all of Delphos, Alice (Gene) Rayman of Elida, Mary Lou (Bill) Browning of Ashville; and Sister Mary Gail, SND, of Toledo; two sisters-in-law, Alfreda Wieging of Delphos and Mary Wrasman of Cridersville; a brother-in-law, Carl Wieging of Lima; and seven grandchildren.
Two brothers, Ralph and Dick Wrasman; and a brother-in-law, Bill Wieging, also preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Military rites will be performed at the church by the Delphos Veterans Council. Burial will be held at a later date.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with a Knights of Columbus service will be held at 7 that evening and a parish wake at 7:30 p.m.
