YMCA adding open swims to schedule

The YMCA of Van Wert County now has open swims Monday through Friday of each week from 1:30-2:45 p.m. throughout the summer.

The open swims are  in addition to the regularly scheduled family swims on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 5-6 p.m., and open swims on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-7 p.m. and Saturdays, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Two lanes of lap swimming are always available during each open swim as well. All open and family swims are free to Y members and cost $3 for each potential member.

Information about this and other programs available at the Van Wert YMCA can be found by calling 419.238.0443 or visiting the Y’s website at www.vwymca.org. Be sure to check the website on an ongoing basis for any special dates when opens swims may not be available, due to private rentals.
