Floyd W. Jones
Floyd W. Jones of Convoy died at 3:10 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born August 25, 1923, in Ohio City, the son of the late C. Clyde and Anna (Kever) Jones.
Mr. Jones was a 1942 graduate of Wren High School. He worked for over 60 years for Central Ohio Breeders Association and Select Sires. He was the owner and operator of Floyd Jones Clothing Store in Convoy for over 30 years. He was a member of Convoy United Methodist Church and active in Convoy Lions Club, Farm Bureau, Van Wert County Dairy Association and a charter member of the Convoy Community Foundation. He had served as a trustee for the Northwest Ohio Family Resource Center and also served on the Van Wert County Hospital Commission. He was a member of the Crestview Local Board of Education for 20 years, with four terms as president, and he was a member of the Ohio School Boards Association’s Board of Trustees and Executive Committee in 1987.
He is survived by two sons, Larry (Linda) Jones of Versailles, Ky., and Ron (Minda) Jones of Hicksville; six grandchildren, Aimeé (John) Baston, Melissa (Todd) Smith, Katina (Jason) Peters, Travis Jones, Ashleé (Mike) Wolf, and Phil (Mandy) Jones; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard (Joan) Jones of Van Wert and Leon (Joyce) Jones of Defiance; two sisters, Marcile Jones and Pauline Jones, both of Van Wert, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Martha (Lare) Jones; his stepmother, Ada Jones; four brothers, Daniel (Martha), Harold (Lois), a twin brother, Lloyd) Marjory), and an infant brother, Paul; and one sister, Josephine Myers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Convoy United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gregory Leigh officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 1, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center, c/o Community Health Professionals, 1159 Westwood Drive, Van Wert, OH 45891, or Convoy United Methodist Church.
