More health survey responses sought

Van Wert County leaders want to hear from area residents about local health care.

The Van Wert County Health Department, Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert County Family and Children First Council, Family Health Care of Northwest Ohio Inc., the village of Ohio City, Crestview Local Schools, Lincolnview Local Schools, and Van Wert City Schools are once again asking the public to complete a community health survey.

Through this anonymous survey, the organizations above are seeking opinions about health services and the quality of life in Van Wert County. The survey results will be used to develop a community health action plan.

In April, county residents were randomly selected to participate in a survey conducted by the Center for Social Research at Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, Ind. (IPFW). So far, two waves of mailings have been distributed.

“The response rate has been outstanding so far,” said Tanja H. Nihiser, associate director for the Center for Social Research. “Thank you to all of Van Wert County’s community members who have taken the time to complete this survey.  For those members who have not had a chance to complete their survey, it isn’t too late.”

Final mailings were distributed June 21. This will be the final chance to weigh in on the biggest issues facing the health of Van Wert County residents.

For more information or to request a new survey, please call Dr. Christopher Bradley or Tanja H. Nihiser at IPFW’s Center for Social Research at 260.481.6235.
