SilverSneakers open house set at YMCA

The YMCA of Van Wert County announces an open house for its SilverSneakers program. The event will be held Wednesday, July 13, from 9 a.m.-Noon.

All potential and current SilverSneakers members are welcome to attend this event, as well as the SilverSneakers fitness class from 10-10:45 a.m. and the luncheon (provided by Van Wert Manor) at 11 a.m. This is a great way to find out more about the program, free fitness classes and the potential free Y membership those eligible will receive.

Those under 80 years of age and eligible for SilverSneakers should receive a card in the mail from Healthways over the next few weeks. Those who receive a card must bring it in to the Y to activate their free membership. Those who do not receive a card can call 800.423.4632 to check eligibility status.

Those who attend the open house can meet the staff and tour the facility and fitness areas, all while socializing with fellow participants over lunch. The Y will waive the joining fee on regular adult or family memberships during this open house.
