William H. Ludwig

William H. Ludwig, 74, of Van Wert, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

He was born November 28, 1936, in Van Wert, the son of the late Owen Burnell and Dorothea (O’Leary) Ludwig. On August 26, 1959, he married Evelyn (Mason) Ludwig, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two children, Sue (Daniel) Jones and Jeff Ludwig, both of Delphos; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A son, Michael Ludwig, and one brother, Richard Ludwig, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery in rural Van Wert County, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the funeral home.
